Question involving vm68's and psi/gauges

I've got this magnum that i'm putting an apache expantion system on. I'm going to relocate the 9oz though so i still have a 9oz and 20 oz bottle on the gun. On the last step in the air system, after the expantion module, i've left room for a gauge.

So heres the question: Having a full 9oz and 20oz bottle on the gun, both activated at the same time, what psi should I expect? (what measurment of gauge should I go with?)

First you need an on off valve on the tanks otherwise you will hav etwo tanks that are always in pressure balance with each other. It would be a greater benefit to have running at once and when it was empty switch to the other tank by turning two valves.

If you have them both on with a valve it will read between 800-900 psi as it's just CO2... and even if it were HPA, the pressure balances and does not add up (Pressure = Tank 1 = Tank 2... not Tank 1 + Tank 2 = Pressure).

Actually, since you mention it, I forgot to mention that I do, in fact, have on/off valves on each tank that I use. I consider that a benefit on any marker.

Would I benefit from also having a regulator in the system?

I guess I would be safe with a 1000psi gauge then.

You could run a reg... but with out having an asa like a bottomline or VTS for your second tank (the first being on the rear adapter and being replumbed to the reg and not the body) then you couldn't do it. Both tank out puts would have to be run into the reg.

this next question is kind of dumb, but i'm drawing a blank.

does the reg go into the expantion module or the expantion module go into the reg? OR does it not even matter?

youll see why later (making some illustrations of my plans)

Well this is just one of the couple ideas i have for where everything will go. (if i do end up using an expantion unit). In the spot where the side air was, there is just a gauge. In the case of what comes first (the expander or the reg) they can be switched in the drawing.

Now; the first step in the system will be the two tanks. Then an air line will go to (either the reg or) the expantion unit. From there a line will run to the (expantion unit or) the regulator. Whatever ends up being last will be screwed into the stock forward asa.

If any of this made sence then someone proceed to tell me if i would be wasting my money or not by investing in a regulator. (I just wanted to make my plans clear)

thanks even more,
III

Yes, tanks to Expansion, expansion to Regulator.

you have it correct. Now you just need to find a VTS.

That and a regulator. How much of an improvment might I see?

You probably wont see that much of an increase in efficiency as many expansion chambers dont do all that much for actual expansion. You will notice an increase in consistency though...this is mainly due to the addition of the regulator. Typically the reg will stop alot more liquid and will be able to "meter" the gas better than an expansion chamber, which in turn should stop any spiking you'll see.

Good luck on the project.

(another excuse for more sh*t! yay!)
