12gram piercing valve?

I just got some brass. Actually it was given to me by a friend, with a long term payment plan...still on the edge about actually doing that.

Anyway, I've been fiddling around with it. It has a backbottle system, which I don't like, but the front cap also as the rod-thing that pushes the 12g into place. Theres a piercing seal inside also. Just no pierce pin.

Strange right? Thats not the least of it. It looks like an LB, but the lower tube says P-series, and it appears to have had a stock feed at one point. Now theres a RF neck.

I think its a non-cartridge valve, as there is a dot of solder where the grub screw/air passage would normally be.

Is there any way to change out the valve to one with a piercing assembly? I would need an RVA as well.

All you need to do to get it to pierce 12grams is replace the valve stem with a pierce pin one. PPS has them.

Note that you'll need to seal off the backbottle system somehow though.

Might have started as a P68sc, can't say for certain unless you post pictures.

This is assuming that I would need to remove the valve to do so?

then I would need a sheridan valve tool.

Maybe I should just send it into palmers for a P-tune, and have them install the valve pin and RVA.

Don't forget that Sheridans are not instapierce and need a priming shot to open up the 12g.

Almost sounds like it could be a hacked pursuit pistol. PMI-IIs didn't have the cartridge adapter.
