| Ska is for skanking! | Many people do it differently, theres many techniques. Experiment. Buy on the last solder job I did, I placed a aluminium stud with the same width of the air port in it the just made sure there was abit more solder in that area to create a strong seal. Then after everything had cooled I just threw an empty 12ie down the valve tube gave it a very gentle tap and out came the stud. Im sure there are many other ways to do it, and I plan to experiment with them all.

| Ska is for skanking! | You can but for best results look for solder that has 4% silver. As for the type dont use acid core solder or flux itll make a mess of your brass, at least thats what I have been told by the experts. Parts Express:WBT 0800 Silver Solder 4% Silver Content 1/8 lb. Thats what I use. Ive also been experimenting with a kit similar to this one. with pretty good results.

| Active Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Darkest Africa... | Thanks for the help. I would like to start a custom build, I will create a new thread in the custom marker section later. I think I am going to need a little help. *On a second thought I have decided to hold this off until I have some spare time. Last edited by {Drake}; 09-10-2008 at 07:20 AM.. |
