| Newbie Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: California | looking for input I have been in the market for a pistol for some time now. I have a Delta .68 but i don't like the feel of it and the fact that it is a blow back so i get a good 20 shots out of it then have to change 12 grams, and when I do this I blow the O-ring. I have done my research and am looking to get a PGP. I did some digging and found a few websites that claim to carry the 2k models. If I am not mistaken what i have found the major differences between the 2k and the older models are the longer barrel, speed feed, sights, and fast changer. What are the other differences and how do they affect performance, accuracy and what not? also these sites list them for 90-100, I'm assuming new as they are supposed to be factory surplus, any thoughts?

| the MilD MOD | The newer PGP 2K models are not significantly different than the older ones in terms of performance. Some of the plastic parts like the "speed feed" you mentioned can be prone to breaking though. The "cartridge valve" found in every PGP2K (and in some more recent older style PGPs) is generally believed to be slightly less capable of in terms of efficiency than the original style vlaves. This only really applies if you intend to have the valve modified to maximize shot count, like through a PPS performance tune. Even then, it isn't hugely significant. The PGP2K bolt is much nicer than the original in terms of pump stroke, so that is certainly a plus. As for the price, 90-100 dollars is average retail for a NIB PGP. I think some stores were charging as much as $120. |
