Pump handle repair?

Hey, I've recently come into posession of a 'well-loved' PGP, and I'm wondering what I might be able to do to recondition the pump handle. It appears to be one of the older metal types. It has a few dings and some pitting around the top near the end of the barrel. I REALLY love the finish on it and don't want to lose it if I can help it. Is there any way I might be able to get rid of the marrings without losing that lovely finish I've fallen in love with?

for reference:

You might be able to file those blemishes out, but then again it might take away some of the finish. Personally though Id just leave it as is, as long as it isnt affecting the performance.

Yeah, you will need to remove metal to smooth those out, quite a bit in the case of the bigger ones. You will probably come out ahead if you leave it alone.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll just leave it alone. Kinda gives it character =]
