Help me care for my new brass

Thanks to MrBig I now own my first piece of brass.

Of course now I want to break it down and show it some love..
Looking for Do's and Dont's(so I dont make any newbie mistakes and break it)
Essential mods?
Aftermarket parts?new grips would be cool
Any advice greatly appreciated

The only "dont" can think of is dont use bad lube and dont cock and release the sear unless you have air in it (if you do it too much.) also use a little paintball lube or 3 in 1 oil on the tip of your 12 grams occasionally to make sure the seals stay good. Sheridans are one of my all time favorite guns, I'm building a wooden stocked rifle out of a p-12 sheridan. (kp clone, i guess, but not collectable.)

btw, sorry if theirs grammar mistakes admins, i broke my wrist partially and its hard to type.

haha, yeah, that spring is a bugger. I'm going to assume since you said tiny that it's the safety spring. Above the safety there should be a long ting hole where a tiny ball bearing and spring fit in. They keep pressure on the safety and allow it to click into place.

Sunfisher is correct, sounds like your safety spring. Hopefully you didn't loose the tiny ball bearing that hides under it. Those little buggers are hard to find if dropped. I'll add one warning to the above, don't try to remove the valve if you don't have a valve tool. You only need to remove the valve if its leaking so its usually not an issue. Sheridans are built like tanks and can tolerate a lot of neglect.

Here are some pictures and schematics that will be of help if you run into problems (the guts of all Sheridan pistols are pretty much the same other than cartridge valve vs old style valve):

You can also use a clipped off tank o-ring as a replacement if you DO lose the spring and bearing.
