Question about cartridge valves...

I've recently gotten more interested in bothering with the internals of sheridans, and my question is:

How does cartridge valves and sheridan bodies work?

Can I place a catridge valve in a non catridge valve body? Does it need modifications of any sort?

I'm interested in getting a p68sc body and placing a catridge valve inside, but I'm not sure how it works out.

Thanks for answering!

I'll say a couple things that should help direct your energies. First, puting the "other" type of valve in a Sheridan body is more trouble than its worth, especially since bodies and parts are readily available. Second, some later examples of the P-68SC came with a cartridge valve. Third, there is a lot of info on Sheridan valves on the PGPOG website.

To put a cart valve in a non-cart valved sheridan you would need to do some hot work. You would basically have to pull the threaded insert out of the lower tube...which is soldered in. I dont see any benifits to swapping from one style to another.
