Despite what people say, there are a lot of KP's out there. Cutting a dropout slot will lower the value and make it harder to sell later on, but it's not like your putting a carbon fibre barrel on it or anything.

I'd personally leave it as is, I've found a dropout slot on a KP doesn't really increase the changing speed, almost makes it more awkward. I've always found a fast changer to be the best method. Any work done to your KP? A PPS performance tune will make it a lot more practical than a drop out slot. Then you'll only have to change 12grams every 30-35 shots instead of every 15.

Thanks, but shes gone now, got me my KP though =)

Frink, ive seen two ways for a KPdropout, one is like freedom's(i htink its his) and has an agled slot cut in the stock, the other is just a slot through it. Freedoms way would be awkward IMO, but the other way might be faster

More awkward, really? Hmm, I should think about that twice. It's like a thadapter... it seems like things would be better with, but in fact, no. I guess I'm gonna stick to my fast changer.

And no... i did not follow your advices when I was purchasing it, about a performance tuning. I was so short in both time and money, and the worst is that customs did waste my time and money at the boundary I was so upset.
I've just polished the internals transfers and putted a Dyna valve in. Haven't fired it yet to know how much shots I get, though.

make sure you plug two of the valve ports(smaller ones) and enlatge the one that faces the bolt

Actually it would be better if I'd plug three ports, wouldn't it?
Plus as far as I remember the 4 ports are all sizing the same...?

The only thing I can't do by myself is to enlarge the hole between the valve and the barrel tubes, and so to plug the third hole from outside the valve tube (from the bottom). I can just plug three holes, and replace this "4 ports valve" with the free one upside, to face the bolt. Would it worth the mod if I do so?

Well, the 3rd hole is plugged by the valve set screw. I did all of those and re sprang my KP, great effeceincey, but no exact reading yet(lost a face seal..).

I didnt enlarge athe transfer hole, and i dont think PPS does it anymore either

Which screw? The one you added when drilling the bottom tube just right under the bottom air port? Don't you need to seal this screw for airtightness? (In the case of a non-cartridge valve)

Anyway, I can't do it. Plus I really dislike the idea to screw my valve from outside: imagine I'd drill the hole just one hair aside where it should be... I couldn't screw my valve assembly tightly anymore with its backing nut.

But I'm a bit confused so if you have pics it would help me more than words.

I dont have any now, but if you take off your stock, youll see the nutsert piece, like an inch away is a setscrew, when you screw the valve in, you tighten that down and it plugs one of the ports

Sorry, my KP and none of all the Sheridans I've worked on are like so.

Or I'm missing what you're telling me because english isn't my native language, and it's a bit hard sometimes to stay focus and fully understand everything at 100%.

But I'll look again tomorrow (it's 2am here).

EDIT: is this screw the one with the nut which is used to settle the stock to the tubes?
EDIT2: or you did grab some guns which were already drilled and tapped for. Okay I'd better gonna sleep now... if I can.
