Long Barrel pump stroke?

Are they the same or any smoother than a sheridan such as a PGP? Or are all brass sheridans pretty much the same as far as pump stroke?

All brass guns that have been tweaked for the best performance are going to pretty much feel the same, provided the iitems being compared are in good condition.

Also do they take standard feedneck adapters for rf's?

No, you need a 1" elbow to use them. The stroke is pretty standard Sheridan, no tension until the cocking portion which becomes heavy, but smooth.

I will add that a Piranha Long Barrel with a factory Speed Demon bolt will be much smoother than a PGP of the same era with a factory bolt. There can be big differences in pump stroke between brass guns with different types of bolts.

Why would the bolt make such a difference?

PGP's have a one piece bolt, and the LB/SB's use a bolt called a speed demon that is a two piece unit.

The back of the speed demon moves back and in the process unlocks the ball bearings that hold the bolt in place, then the rest of the bolt moves back cocking the gun and loading the ball.

With pgp's the bb's are spring loaded so you need to use force to move them out of the holes in the barrel they sit in. You can reduce the pressure on the bb's by swapping out the spring with a shortened pen spring. But stock a LB/SB will be smoother than a pgp.

Also... KP's have a different hammer set up that is longer than the PGP's, LB/SB's and the rest of the "pistols". The KP's require more force to cock because they use a longer spring. Palmer uses the KP length system in their guns.

Oh ok. Thanks. But don't pgp2's use that same style of 2 part bolt, with it unlocking the bb's then cocking the gun?

Similar. It's shorter in the front so youcan't swap them. This is because PGP's are techincally a rimfire (the bolt face is flat and the air enters from the side of the chamber) where as the ball enters further forward on the LB/SB's so that the bolt is center fire (air comes up from the lower tube into the bolt and then goes up the center of the bolt where it then hits the ball).
