So i scored this on CL and I have a quick question

I removed the bb's from the bolt cuz it was so stiff to pump. do you guys leave em' out, or do you clip the spring a smidgen to lighten the tension and put them back in. i like the fact that they keep the bolt in position, but christ almighty they make it hard to get a consistent aimed shot when your pumping.

I had the same issue with the stiffness of the pump stroke when I bought mine, I took the bb's out and it is a lot better. It didn't affect anything on my gun when I took em out neither.
Oh and if you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for it? Cause there have been alot going real cheap nowadays.

It is pretty much flawless and appears to be a crossover gun from the Sheridan, to Crossman production because it is a pgp body in all senses but internally has a cartridge valve and a late style pump handle.

Nice find.
This is the 2000 PGP. Transitional yes. Superior to the 2001
The Crosmann computer punched numbers on the barrel.
Cartridge valve, which is better for you to work on.
The removal of the detent bbs is something I sometimes do to smooth out the pump stroke. However, an excessively hard action means something is wrong.
Remove the bolt and handle. The handle should move effortlessly when not connected to the bolt.
The bolt should be cleaned and checked for deep score lines. The lines indicate a spur of some sort is cutting into the bolt when cycling. A PGP that has seen a lot of use sometimes forms a spur in the barrel where the hammer retraction pin hits the brass in the forward position of the slot.
Replace the o-ring. A #9 plumbing o-ring will work better for a smoother stroke. A #10 will give a better seal.
Check the hammer spring. Perhaps it has been shimmed. An RVA is a must.

Thanks Bret. RVA on order from palmers already, should be here Monday. Took the factory bb spring out and placed away for safe keeping, replaced it with a lighter strength spring, it is fantastical now. All new seals were put in the cartridge valve on Wed. throwing a brass trigger shoe on it Sunday, i'm gonna rock it out this weekend at the field.
