Clip is short for Stripper Clip and used to hold ammo before loading it into a magazine ( be it a removable box magazine (think semi-auto pistol,,, AR or AK) or a in gun magazine such as a M1 Garand,,, M1906 rifle or SKS )... The Tippmann SMG 60 and 68 used clips that were fed into the box magazine... ![]() I hope that helps WK2

I was siting down to write something up about the 007. Is there really anything that needs to be said that isn't found in a link to nog? I know that new information doesn't really get put up but it seems pretty complete. What about that into and a link to nog for that entry?

I'll copy the info, crediting the source, as I expect NOG will eventually go offline as the users migrate to higher volume forums like M.CB and PhOG. | |

To add a couple from Brass Eagle, the Nightmare Short Barrel (regular or competition variation, the difference being the cutout to enable faster 12g changes) should go into the pump category. They're compact, dependable, can be modded easily to have an external velocity adjustment (drill and tap the back block for a screw to adjust the spring tension), decent accuracy and efficiency. They hold ten rounds internally above the barrel (like a Nelspot) but can also be modded to take a direct feed and there was even a backbottle CA adapter for them. ![]() In the modifying category, the Raptor semi-autos which are based on the F1 Illustrator can also be turned into a sort of sidearm. Put a 12g quick changed in the vertical air adapter and run a shorter barrel. They look like a big M1911 with a foregrip when you do it. Just stick a 10rd tube into the powerfeed tube or you can remove it and weld on a mount (they used a weldable aluminium alloy for the body, most likely something fairly common like 6061 or 7005). Also in the pump category, the UZI II should be mentioned although it fits into the too easily broken plastic body category with the BE Eagle .68, it does have a fairly good internal magazine capacity of around 20 balls, and you can run a 12g quick-change on the back bottle adapter. Employs a squeeze grip-frame safety like an HK P7 pistol. ![]() Also while not intended to be used as a "sidearm", the Nightmare Long Barrel (which holds 18 rounds in its top tube magazine) can be carried as a backup gun also. I keep mine attached to my tactical vest in a pouch on the back, and draw the thing over-the-shoulder when I need it. Which I did at snow day at PBP's field in november when the car stock on my A-5 snapped at the mount point, rendering it unusable as the spring went launching out into the snow when the stock (which was on a sling mount) pulled away from the gun which was in my hands). As was said previously, its short for stripper clip. You use stripper clips to load magazines (removable and fixed in some cases) in a hurry. You can carry a bandoleer full of stripper clips which saves you time loading under fire, and saves you the bulk and weight of extra magazines. In most weapons you can use the stripper clips to load a removable magazine that's still in the weapon. Like this: While we are on the subject, a "Gun" is usually a crew served piece ala a Battleship GUN or the 120mm Main GUN on my beloved Abrams Tank. The M16 is a "Rifle" and the M9 is a "Pistol" or collectively they can be called Weapons. Don't get caught in the military calling them guns.... YouTube - This Is My Rifle. This Is My Gun Sorry for the thread distraction...back to the action!
