Ready for some Pistol Whippin'!

I just got my new TPX in the mail today.

Took it apart to make sure everything was Tip-top. (I got it from a private seller, I do that with all my guns.) Man this thing is cool. Shouldn't Tom Kaye get some lawyers or something? :P It came with 5 mags and a stiffi MF Carbon Fiber barrel. I'm ready for some pistoling. Anything I should know/watch out for?

The only thing I want now? Another one

Cool!

I have a couple problems off the bat.

So I air'd it up, but it wouldn't puncture, so I got my allen keys and adjusted the puncture myself. Then, I shot off my first round, this f*cker is LOUD. I was also shooting really high it seemed, 322fps! So I lowered the velocity, but now I can't get it over like, 210fps, without the pressure relief valve leaking... So I set it back to 210, and it shot lik this, 208, 334, 201, 211, 220 and it averaged out round that range. So why did it spike like that!?! Then I got about 2, almost 3 mags off before the last 4 balls of the 3rd mag were rolling out...

Two questions:

1. are you using decent paint?
2. did you get it back together correctly when you took it apart?

It was shooting great when I shipped it out to you.

The CO2 adjustable pierce mechanism is designed to take any 12 gram. you will have to re-adjust when you switch brands of 12ie. The documents on how to set it are on the tippmann site - but it's pretty obvious.

The paint was some xo camotac crap back from august, So I didn't expect much from it, and I adjusted the cap to take crossmans, but for some reason I was getting some weird velocity issues. Probably from the crossmans I'd expect. The only real trouble I have is getting the velocity up higher, but without having it leak. It tells me in the manual how to set the pressure relief valve so I can get my shots up higher without it leaking. Unfortunately I only have 1 12ie left, so I gotta go buy more.

By the way, no-one suggest a better brand of 12gram. Where I live, I only have access to crossman 12ies.

yeah, you can adjust the pressure relief valve - but try a handful of 12 grams first.

I shall. And I assume that it takes tiny increments it the turn to drastically change the pressure correct?

yeah, it's basically a safety. The velocity adjust will give you the actual adjustment - the relief valve is basically there to protect you from velocity spikes from liquid CO2 getting into the gun. Adjusting the relief valve alone won't adjust the velocity - it'll just allow you to reach higher velocities if it was set too low. The valve is designed to operate in the 350-range.
