Eventual price floor for TPX

I was wondering about something yesterday. I want a TPX, mostly to tinker, but also to actually use. I don't really HAVE to have one yet, but will get one within the year. I see Tib pistols holding strong with other STBB pistols have seen used prices continue to slowly go down. Where does everyone think that the eventual resting place will be for a typical TPX with 2 mags?

See, I could do that. I can't do the $200-ish mark for what I want it for.

Well, they're mass produced, mostly plastic (sorry POLYMER for you anal types), and many have issues out of the box. Add to that people buying them because they think it's cool (the hottest new trend in 2011, at that), and don't realize that pistol play is hard.

I think you'll see basic TPX packages selling sub $100 in a year or two as people just try to get rid of them.

The advantage Tib has/had with the expensive magazines is it was less of an impulse buy to get a set up, so I think there are less people flipping that impulse buy after they play with it once or twice and realize it's not for them.

Guess I'm just looking for an impulse buyer with buyer's remorse then. I'm really just interested in the feed system. Too bad they are a polymer, so much tacticool potential with that thing.

Dunno really... In all honesty Tib resale isn't that great either. But I did just pick up two TPX's, one for $150 with a busted o-ring, and one for $180 in working condition. Pistol resale, besides select rare or custom pieces, has always been pretty poor, mostly for the reasons Mayvik mentioned. People see a pistol and get all kinds of John Woo dreams of dual-wielding Matrix leaping handgun fairies in their heads, then get to the field and realize "Oh crap, this is a lot more work than planting my *** in a bunker and ramping 6 pods downfield". Then up for sale it goes.

A lot of people buy and then quickly sell Phantoms for the same reason, especially because they're such accessible markers. And yet Phantoms still retain a relatively decent resale value (usually). So what do you think the difference is?
