It would probably be easier if you described what exactly you wanted to do with it and I could point you in the right direction then... For primary pistol use the Zeus is almost always my first choice but if you want to use it for a build of some sort it would be highly dependent WHAT you're building.

Well in that case:

Zeus (Armotech, Miltec, Warsensor)

Price: I've seen them go for as low as $50 to as high as $120 shipped. Depends where you find them and who has them. If they're on ebay and they've been sitting in someone's closet for the better part of 5 years you can normally get a deal.

Upgrades: AgentSmith's Top-Loading Mod, Smiley's Springfeed Guide Rod (these are pretty easy DIY's), Armotech's accept Phantom pierce pins, Miltec/Warsensor can be modded to do so.

Barrel Threads: The barrel isn't really interchangeable, it's a bore through the body of the gun. The end has a proprietary thread for extensions/muzzle brakes but as far as I know only those made by the manufacturer will fit. Bore is large-ish, probably .695 or thereabouts.

Magazines: The magazine is as far as I know only compatible with other Zeus mags, however, with the top-loading mod and the spring guide mod, the need for extra mags is eliminated, as it is much faster to simply reload from 10 round tubes.

Seals: All internal o-rings are interchangeable with tank o-rings, pierce pin assembly is compatible (or modifiable to be compatible) with CCI Phantom pierce pins.

Springs: Tippmann Pro-Am springs can be cut down to work as hammer springs, compatible with regular Spyder valve springs.

Grips: Standard 1911 style grips.
