Front loading port on T68 2o rnd Firestorm magazine?

Hello all.

I'm after some advice regarding this magazine and stopping the spring from coming out, have any of you guys out there tried doing this mod to this length of magazine?

I've cut the loading port no problem but, after a lot of trying, I have not been able to widen the spring (it got a bit tangled and needs replacing now anyway!)

Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Guide rod would probably be the way to go but you'd need a particularly long one.

Look here: Making the SA17 A More User-Friendly Primary for the general idea

He's doing the front loading port mod so he doesn't have to carry multiple mags. It's a mod so that you can quickly reload with 10 round tubes without having to remove and keep track of a feed cap.

Thanks for the link(SA-17 - very nice, nearly bought but they were recalled when I had the cash at hand and bought a T68 instead) and pointers PistolRogue, I've got some bits together to make a guide rod, although as an experiment I used the spring from my 10 round magazine.

Its works without popping out of the hole but is not quite long enough to feed the last five rounds.

Having said that, my plan is to reload before I use all the paintballs so the lowest I will go is 5 in the mag before reloading, meaning I'm always loaded amd only reload 10 at a time instead of twenty (reloading twenty even with the mod is very time consuming).

I still need to test it in the field and will post pics once its finished.

Here are some pictures of the mod.

It works very well with a spring guide and the spring guide is short enough that I did not have to put a hole at the end of the magazine, I think this may be due to the length of the mag.

Its untested in the field at the moment but I can reload twice as fast as before.

Yeah, those mags have a lot of space at the front, probably why you didn't need to drill through the endcap. Good on ya though, the FLP makes a world of difference on springfeed guns, IMO it's so good it's better than mag-feeds like the TPX or T8, especially when you factor in the cost/weight/bulk of tubes vs. mags.
