Crosman 3357 latch

Just as title says, I'm wondering about the 3357 latch.

I have an old 357 and recently acquired a 3357 barrel and cylinder.
Problem is: I discovered the 357 latch does not tighten the 3357 barrel assembly.
Well, I brought up those handy PDFs and it seems the latches are different between the two models.

I'm pretty sure it could be manufactured, but I don't have time for such a precision work (in fact, I don't have the tools neither).

Crosman surely won't have it anymore.

I might have it made by a machine shop, but I'll need the (metric) dimensions.

Could anybody help me?
(yes, that sounds like... «Help me Acrewofone, you're my only hope...»)

Yes, I have the barrel latch plate and screw, which are very rare and hard to get. I originally had 5 (only one had a screw, the other four were unthreaded). I used 4 to fix other 3357s that I have rebuilt over the last several months, so I only have the one left (with the screw).

Make me an offer for it.

BTW, I calculate $13.95 to ship to France via USPS Priority Mail.

I thought he talking about this piece below?

I thought he might also have trouble with the small rubber spacer which sits underneath the latch. Sometimes, it wears out/loses it shape and you must replace it.

Ahhh, perhaps you are correct, the only difference between the old 3357 latch and the 357 latch is the newer one has the pointy tip cut off and is flat on the top.

(I read the words...3357....barrel...latch.. and got ahead of myself)

I'm sorry, I should have used the part number:
Just as Magnificent7 said, it's the #3357-021 that I'm missing.
I have the #357-020, but it's a bit short, so the cylinder does not revolve (index finger is not in tight contact with the cylinder).

Here's the problem... if I want to have it rebuilt (I prefer creating new parts rather than scavenging: original part are in limited amount), I'll need the dimensions.

The small rubber piece (#357-021, AkA Latch support) shouldn't be a real problem: mine is still decent, and in the worst case, I can easily make another.

I have a 3357-021, holding it right next to a 357-020, and it is the same length, just does not have the point on the top, it's flat.

The 357-020 should still work, I've used it on rebuilt/restored 3357s and it's worked fine.

Can you loosen the top screw in the barrel, that does down into the latch plate, and move the latch plate a little?

I can loosen it a bit, but there is still a 4-5 mm gap between the cylinder and the frame assembly.

I'll take photos later tonight, 1 picture explains more than a thousand words

If you look down thru the hole in the top of the barrel assembly, can you see the edge of the latch plate? (about 2-3mm worth, the square hole in the latch plate is smaller than the hole in the top of the barrel assembly).

The hole in the latch plate should be square, if not, I wonder if someone filed/dremeled it out bigger for some reason.

Sorry for the delay... I had some personals problems here.. hope it's fixed.

This is the latch (I tore everything down and reassembled carefully... seems I got the whole thing a bit tighter, but it's not enough: index finger still can't reach the barrel):

As you can see, it's almost useless, as any movement makes gets it out of the square notch.

I tried lowering the metal plate, but I doubt it'll be enough.

I'll try to replace the latch support (#357-021) with some piece of (sturdy) rubber, maybe it'll do some good?
