She's a beauty! Great work!

One thing I found is that the little barrel stub blocks the co2 plug. I didn't want to remove it and leave exposed threads in the barrel(a pain if you break a ball), so I stubbed it shorter and found it much easier to grab and turn the plug without looking:

Good times!

Yeah I am going to stub it down some more, when I first got it it was 8 inches long. I am already looking at devious things to do to the other body I have.

Update 7/2/12

Well I got to play around with it this weekend. It was fun however, 12ies are a love hate thing. SO I have devised my solution.....

TO finish it off I am going to order some hardline and pipe it down the side of the gun, and then have the remote adaptor out the back like a TPX.

I also machined down the barrel too...

Quick thought and question, can anybody think of a bad reason or a reason not to make a delrin bolt for these pistols? I am just thinking of other things to mod for the gun and there was that idea and a SSTL hammer (stainless steel), not nessecarily needed but then again the thread is titled "What the heck".

Alamo City Paintball already makes a delrin bolt for them. I used one on my primary Zeus and it definitely did increase velocity vs. the stock bolt, which appears to have a much looser fit.

Cool, but I am cheap so I will make mine. Any suggestions on making a better bolt? O-rings, cupped face, so on and so forth. Nice thing is I can match the bore size on the gun so there won't be as much play.

I always thought having an o-ring behind the air port might help efficiency but the problem is that it would actually leave the bore of the gun, I think... Which might lead to catching on the edges on it's way back in which would cause all sorts of problems. I think the best you can really do due to the miniaturized nature of the Zeus bolt is just to get the OD as big as you possibly can without causing drag.

Well guess I can fart around with it to my hearts content then. Hmmm, maybe groove the stock bolt for an o-ring behind the port, that way any air escaping will go down the barrel versus back. Try a new bolt made out of whatever plastic (I am open for suggestions here I can get ahold of just about every kind of engineering plastic there is), looks like instead of a heavier hammer I might try making the stock one lighter (bore some holes in it).

UPDATE: If anyone cares the bolt is going to be made out of carbon filled PEEK bearing material, low wear properties and good dimensional stability.

Hardline is here!!!!

So I got some high pressure fittings and hardline from McMaster Carr. for those of you who want to know:
McMaster Carr Pn#
5182K817 Type 316 SSTL Yor-Lok Tube fitting, 90 degree elbow
5182K491 Type 316 SSTL Yo-Lok Tube fitting, Adaptor fo 1/8"tube O.D. x 1/8 NPT female Pipe
6100K142 Precision SSTL tubing 1/8" O.D. 28" length (this tubing is rated to 3500 psi, there is higher but I doubt I will have that kind of pressure going through it).
All I have to do is drill and tap a 10-32 hole for the bracket and ,Blahzinga!!!!

Now for the picture show

Should have the last of the milling work completed by tomorrow. I leak tested the fittings and not a peep. The adaptor works like a champ too.
