AgentStyle TiPX co2 change Mod

I've been messing with this particular Idea for a while and finally got it where I like it.

Click on links to view pics!!!

You start out here:

What I've done is taken the 3/8-16 plug tap($4) and threaded the inside of a 5/16" high strength washer.

Then I used a file to remove some of the plug, the thickness of the washer.

I then reinserted the allen screws and set the length for proper piercing.

Then I screwed the washer, sharpedged side up, down onto the screw.

I take the magnet from magnetmaster kit :Part No. 07573 ($6 from the hardware)

and pop it on:

It won't come off and I haven't bothered to glue it.

This is part of how I change co2 so rapidly and change it in the holster. not only does it hold the 12gram:

for easy loading with one hand, but I can pop co2, removing the plug, and the magnet will hold it all in until I pull on it once it's holstered:

It makes co2 changes a snap.

EDIT 5/28/2015: A mod for a plug extension has been added at the end!

Well, I've had a version for a while but it required alot more drama with the co2 plug. This method only weakens it slightly, then reinforces it with the washer so I'm confident of it's safety.
The other version is still in test mode, we'll see if it stands up to long use!

I'll have to try this out. I never really got the hang of changing mine out while it's in the holster.

Worked to my advantage last weekend. I made sure they saw me changing out my CO2, slower than usual to draw them out. Snapping the ready pistol out of my dump pouch got him. I couldn't get that guy to move otherwise.

I'm off to Home Depot after work again.

Do I have to drive one of mine to your house or what Rogue???
Come to the Monster Game!!!

You were the one who's face I was imagining, mainly. Also the nature of this one is such that you don't really appreciate it until you try it, so I was imagining some 'what's the big deal?' looks.

The devil's in the details with pistol play. To me this is huge and I would as soon take the field with no shoes as do without.

Piece of cake. The magnets I found at Home Depot were not part of that cabinet kit but about the same size. Almost too big, they snagged a bit when inserting back in the pistol. I had some smaller magnets from a project years ago that works perfectly.

It looks nice, but I do not understand why it shoult make the changes easier or faster.

If you run with 2 pistols, 1 hand holds your ready pistol while your other hand changes out CO2(without looking at it). Without the magnet you increase your chances of dropping either the plug or the new/old 12g.

A normal co2 change is a 3 hand job. one for the pistol, 1 for the plug, and 1 for the 12ies. This turns it into a 2 hand job, not an especially hard one either!
