tipx sight rail prototype

Using foam core I was to make a prototype for something that I think many tipx owners would like. The tipx doesn't have top rails on it due to the silly clam shell design and I can up with this

It would be clamped down to the marker but with foam in middle to reduce scratching.
If I were to produce this would there be anyone interested?

Just attach the rail to the metal shroud and have it raised to go over the full length of the gun.

Yeah, sort of:

Still, I guess for those who'd prefer the sight to be more rearwards, your idea's a good one reflex.

Why not just epoxy a cheap rail to the top of one of the body halves?

My advice (if you have the tools to do so) would be to make your brackets so they triangulate with the clamshell screws, so that you can use longer screws to attach the bracket to those points. It will be more secure than simply clamping to the body, which is important since a scope that can't hold zero because of a shifting mount is pretty well useless. Well, scopes are mostly useless anyway unless you're planning on using First Strike rounds in this gun.
