The availability of quality paint is definitely the limiting factor with these things- I wanted to use my Khaos in a scenario game earlier this month and was barred from doing so because the event had no .50 paint available. The field I usually go to allows me to use my own paint with it, mostly because the owner finds the thing fascinating. When I have been able to use it, I've actually had the opposite problem you suggested- if anything, contemporary .50 paint is too brittle. It may be partially the gun's fault, but I'm seeing lots of barrel breaks and no bounces, at least so far. When the thing does connect, though, it's pretty darn fun.

(This is at a field that has gone mostly .50 Cal for its rentals)

Wow, $149 is a decent price for it as well. Be interesting to see how it does when released.

I would definitely (and have been wanting) a reliable .50 cal pistol for backup/CQB situations.

Only issue I have would be paint crush with it sitting for long periods before actually being used, which is why I still REALLY want them to come out with .50 cal shaped projectiles.

The raysun 92 took shaped rounds... I wonder if this does as well? (I doubt it being GI though).

Theoretically .50 should be stronger for the same shell thickness and density than .68, disclaimer I have never even held a .50 paintball

I pre-ordered one if it is halfway decent I will replace my TPX with it as a sidearm. Mags are pricey at $30 each also. I hope .50 cal FSR become a thing that would be so cool. You could carry 30+ in a mag on a rifle platform.
