How do most pistol mags fit onto the gun?

Ok, so i'm building a pistol out of a spyder and I need help with the mag. I'm lookin at spare mags on ebay and from what it looks like, it seems like it might clip onto a dovetail for the ACP mags? Am I right or just crazy. If i'm wrong, how do the magazines fit onto the top of the gun to stay secure?

There is usually an indentation mid magazine and a retaining pin or slide of some sort.

So the slides, would it fit onto a dovetail or is it a different setup? The thing with this project is that I could EASILY attach a dovetail to the top tube of the gun as long as the mag slide would work.

Swing by the house and take a look at the Zeus if you'd like.

You could probably buy the kit that turns the ACP1 into the ACP2. That comes with the mag attachment system. Or you may be able to just buy the mag attachment system by itself.
