| Which pistol? I recently used a Zeus at my local field, and i really liked it, so i am considerating buying a pistol. I am new to pistols, and to give you an idea, right now i rock a DM6. I am trying to decide between a Zeus G2, Arkairon, or a Sherdian PGP, so as you can see, $100 is my price mark. The zeus was bulky and heavy and is O.K. on 12g. The arkairon was lighter, but like the zeus. And finally the Sherdian PGP is older, but is alot better on 12g. I also read that they are very good. It is also pump, which i do not mind playing. So: -Which do you think is the best? -What are the ups and downs of each in your opinion? -Is the Sherdian good, even though it is older? How rare are they to find on these forums? All help is apprecieted Thanks, -BK |

| Spread The Virus | It's my personal preference, but,I recommend the AFT if you can find one....IMHO they were the best paintball pistol ever constructed. Out of the ones you've listed the PGP is the most reliable and durable, plus they tend to hold their value for many years......and if you get bored, ship it to Palmer's for a Stroker semi auto conversion

| As far as pistols are concerned, I'm really a fan of either the TAG-8 or PMI USP. If you can overlook the price and weird grip of the former, or the Moon rocket sized bore, Tricky air and paint change, and the looks of the latter, You're left with a Decent gun. Honestly, pistols are the most overlooked realm of paintball. Save for the TAG-8/9 there hasn't been much innovation in the last eight years or so. |

| In my opinion of everything you listed, I would go with a trusty PGP. They are reliable, strong, and as accurate as any other pistol listed. Plus as my colleague mentioned a trip to PPS can make it into an awesome machine. I personally rock a Noxx automag conversion pistol for occasional backup/plinking duties. If I were to go with anything else it would be a Duckslide/Phantom! But hey thats me. As I mentioned at the beginning this is simply opinion. Go with what you like before what anyone else says. Afterall you'll be the one pulling the trigger! ![]()

I really think people give the Tac-8 a bad rap because of the somewhat long paint change with one mag. The trick is to run with between 3 and 4 of the suckers, that way you can fall back, reload and be back in the action. Under fire, i takes me around 5 seconds to eject a mag and refill it with paint. Under fire, it takes me about 1 second to eject a mag and slap a new one home. With some practice, the marker stays on target too. the stock bore is a bit big too, but it accomidates just about any paint as a result (detentes are awesome). Yes, the grip is fair bit larger than most markers, but it is a matter of getting used to it. I find that it actually centers in my hand better than my other markers (i have slightly larger than usual hands) I know some people are going to disagree with me, but hey, it's like a stock class phantom, very nice shooters, but not for everyone.

| Well, i have seen the Tac 8/9 at other fields, and i dont really like them, I think i may get a PGP, because of all of the good things i have read about them and how oldschool they look. I found one Here Is this in good condition for a PGP? I can see its a Pre2k version. I have read that there are problems with these such as unscrewing the 12g, and changing the velocity. Would you go for an older or a newer PGP? and if i got an older one, what would i want to do to it? |
