My 3357 Spotmarker

Just picked up a Crosman Spotmarker 3357.

Well like I expected, the latch was broken but besides that it was in ok shape.
I decided to open it and see what I could do to fix up so it's in working order.
BIG MISTAKE!
My clumsy hands snapped off a little plastic piece. I decided it was probably going to end up a wall piece because now it wasn't working at all.

But, I did check the web for the Crosman site. Low and behold there is a Crosman service tech that works about 30 minutes from me. Now he has it and $50 later I should be getting it back with a complete refurb in about 2-3 weeks.

I'll throw up some pics when I get it back. This will give me 2-3 weeks to find a nice holster for it.

What part of NJ? My wife is from Wayne and we visit regularly. I've always wanted a 3357, but feared they were too old to be trustworthy.

Wow, really? Someone can actually work on those, AND they are local for you? Sweet, and lucky you!

The trigger/cylinder/valve mechanism on these guns is cool but holy crap it's a PITA to put back together if you mess up taking it apart. I actually had to dissect my second one just to figure out where all the bits and baubles went on my first one.

I sent the two I used to have to a local crosman tech. They used to leak badly, but they fixed it.

Flyin' Lion - Somerville, in central Jersey

The Crosman tech was telling me that the 3357 back is pretty much the same as the newer 3576 Revolver back that they sell today.

3576

If you have a 3357 and are looking for a service tech, go here:

My only concern with the Spotmarker that I don't think the tech can fix is that the paintball cylinder has these sticky things that help keep the paintballs in the cylinder, but they are so sticky they seem to stick to the balls.

sloonan, I just scraped some of that rubber stuff out with my fingernails. It was so sticky it was making my balls curve left.
