modding my shoebox shocker cp reg, led ect

So i decided that it was time to play around with my shoebox shocker.

First I added a power switch and 3 red leds to show when power is on. can you believe that this gun didnt come with a power switch:ROTFL: and replaced the stock battery with a 9v battery.
I got the switch out of my rc parts bin and the leds from hobby king and the 9v battery plug from Radio shack.

next I wanted to lighten up the gun so I decided to get rid of the maxflow and go with a cp or other regular regulator.

take a automag vertical air adapter and remove the wings. I used a dremel and file but it would have looked alot nicer if i had access to a mill.

next i had to make the trigger frame flat so that the as would set flush.

Nifty. That does look a lot better. The max-flo's always looked ugly to me.

paintball_fiend 03-14-2011 03:53 PM

I think it looks and feels alot better. I am trying to decide if i want to run a remote and co2 so i can take even more weight off the gun and get more shots per tank.

Spider! 03-14-2011 04:15 PM

Hmm. Idk shockers. I've never heard of any of them on CO2.

paintball_fiend 03-14-2011 07:23 PM

they run great on CO2. I dont think they had HPA when they first came out.
" Capable of operating off CO2, compressed air, or Nitrogen. The marker will perform better than most others on the market while on CO2, due to the operation."

cool vid by cockerpunk that mentions co2 usage.

I have run it on CO2 before and it really helps since the gun is such a gas hog. not sure how well the CP reg handles co2 but maybe i could put the old maxflow reg on the tank then run the remote off that.

Mods that I would like to do
+get delrin bolt tip
+replace the DS board with an LS or Glacier, possibly an Excalibur board.
+have Super_Stanchy freak bore the stock barrel so i can use my .679 insert and stop the rullouts.

if anyone has the delrin bolt tip for cheap let me know.

can you still get the rear lower tube out for servicing with that gauge on their? that was one thing stopping me from doing that same thing, the gun liked to be lubed often.

DefTone 04-21-2011 12:41 AM

The old shoebox Shockers run great on Co2, but you need to build an anti-siphon tank for them if your gonna run the tank on the gun "not remote"...Yes there was HPA when the Shocker hit the scene, but the reason everyone ran Co2 on them was because they are air hogs and on HPA you have to run a huge tank to get any shots at all...Back when I used to use Shockers I built 68cui tanks with an on/off valve & anti-siphon kit and ran Co2 in them and got alot of shots on a fill. I loved the old shoebox Shockers, I still think they were one of the most accurate guns I ever owned and they had a ton of range on them with the right barrel...They were 1 balling machines back in the day.

Shoebox shocker is still my favorite electro gun. Most stable platform ever! I agree with Deftone, they were one balling machines!

I ran mine off of a remote and it helped tremendously with weight and freezing. As also mentioned above, went with the 68ci Co2 tank. They sure loved to eat Co2!

You did a awesome job with yours! Really love the looks of it!

i just played with my S/F at sc village last weekend. ran it on full auto the whole day. just jumped in with walk ons, i got a ton of kills, no problem hanging with new guns.

they are more accurate (cause of consistancy) than stuff ive seen out there. its like my PPS super stocker shooting strings of paint at 11 bps, stacking velocitys repeatedly.

on a 68/45 only filled to 3800 cause sc village sucks hard, gets about 500 rounds. i guess that sucks nowadays
