Extended eye wire
 

I'm doing another ion project, and I was wondering if there was a way to extend the wire harness for the eyes by about 8 inches.

Splice more wire onto it? Does your project allow enough room for crimp connectors (the easy way)? Otherwise, you'd have to solder 'em.

Yes, it does allow open space, but the wires seem VERY small and it doesn't seem like soldering would work.

You can but those same eye wires in longer lengths from different electronics distributors. I havent had time to look em up lately but all it is is a small molex type connector that they use in pcs and electronics setups look online and just buy some. SOOOOOO much easier. Those wires are too small a gauge to mess with. If you dont want to buy a longer wire you can disconnect the molex connector from both ends using a small pin or eyeglass screwdriver then buy a roll of that small gauge wire from radioshack (if they still sell it, they may have to order it ) and make the wires the length you want. you can even use a bigger gauge wire if you can get the endcrimps that slide into the molex to fit a slightly bigger gauge. Those eyes are just reading in low millivolts so it wont hurt anything.
