school me on smart parts max flo regs

I never was a huge smart parts fan but these max flow regs seem to be pretty well built.

Anyways I have one that came on my shoebox shocker, then I have a lp inline and a hp manifold style.

My inline will probably end up on a minicocker I'm building, with this do I no longer have to use an hpr? I can run a braided line right into the block?

The hp manifold is going on my automag rt, anything needed to get it to rt?

Are all these regulators rated for 4500psi? Did they make 3k models? Or is this a function of what burst disk is installed?

Who sells rebuild kits for these? Can you still buy the low pressure to high pressure conversion kits?

Finally, how come nobody makes anything like these anymore? A tank regulator that can output adjust down to working pressure to the marker? Can a setup flow more air or be more consistent if you go from a tank pressure of 3000 to 4500 to a tank regulator pressure of 800-1000 to marker pressure of 200-400?

When installing to the tank can I use loctite 545 without blowing myself up or never being able to remove it?

Also I've read everything on zds paintball but still had these questions.

Ok lets start with this
MaxFlo's are HPR's. On maxflo's HP and LP just stand for their high and low output pressure setups

The one on your shoebox shocker is probably set up with safety release valve the releases at 300psi and is LP. So wont really work on the mini cocker or RT with out making changes to it

Now all the Regs them selves were rated for 4500psi. Note however the manifold could be set up for only 3000psi or 4500psi. So you would need a airsmith to inspect the ruptor disk for which version you have for safety.

If you planning to run the LP inline on your mini cocker this wont work unless your planning to run a LP valve like madman rocket valve or If its a Ebladed a MQ or MQ2 valve. But if you are going to running a more standard valve set up. The LP inline could be modded to running Higher to work properly on your cocker

Now the HP Manifold on your RT. With out pics I cant tell you for sure if its a HP or a LP reg. Since your not real famliar with Maxflo's it maybe a LP setup since their the more common ones floating around and kind of easy to come by. If it is there is no way it'll run on your RT with out being completed modded to a HP reg.

You can find Oring rebuild kits on Ebay for the regs. But I've kind of had hit and miss on ones that work good. Some work fine for a whole season plus and other times they didnt last 2 days of play.

Conversion Kits arent around any more. One may pop up once in a blue moon. You can find the LP spring pretty easy at times. But HP are like needle in a hay stack. I been begging for GOG to like to do a retro rebuild conversion rebuild kit for like a limited time but no luck.

Now as for loctite just a drop of red or a couple drops of blue is fine. Once it under pressure your not unscrewing off the manifold. you wont have that chance like preset screw in tank that can get stuck in a ASA.

As for why they dont make them anymore. Because markers today dont need them. Plus cost and profit. Its alot cheaper to make a standard preset HPA tank system and a secondary inline reg than it is to make a adjustable HPA system. Plus if you have a failure in one it doesnt mean your whole marker is down. You can either swap out your tank or swap out your inline reg and be back up and running.

Hope that helps and I probably made more questions for you. feel free to pm if you need more help

The inline lp is going on a mq'd pump so that should be fine. Even my non pump autocockers I can still get proper velocity out of at 300-400psi, is that still too much for the lp's?

I know the shoebox is an lpr, I was hoping to convert the lpr's to hpr it would just require a spring like the palmers but it looks like it's a lot more.

Anyone have a lpr to hpr kit they want to sell? The manifold one I bought I think your right, it's going to be an lpr as well. I guess I figured hpr would be more common until I remembered every marker smart parts made required lpr.

Yup Lp is more common. The only difference is the spring and piston size between lp and hp.you may have luck on automags.org or big evil online those are automag forums most maxflo applications for those guys are hp so I'm sure secof them have parts your asking for. I sold one about a year and a half ago that had both hp lp
