If you wanted to double the distance your ion is shooting?

I put a new barrel on my ion other then that its stock I'm trying to use it for woods ball and compared to guns like spyders my gun is only shooting about half the distance they are with my reg all the way open up. What can I do about this? bolt? reg? what do I need to do to fix this problem I was hoping puting a new barrel on would do the try but its not help me much.

Err...is this a regulation field, or is it just a gathering in the woods?

There's always a chance that your friends are shooting hot.

Whoah there.. lets slow down a tad.

If you are shooting 300fps, and your friends are too, then you all will shoot the same distance unless you have a barrel that uses a trick like a flatline or Apex system.

And what you gain from those you loose in accuracy or breaking at a distance.

I would chrony your gun as well as theirs (should be doing that anyhow for safety) and check back. No matter what the hypesters tell you, all a barrel cocsists of is a smooth tube of metal (or composites) that guides the ball down range, and lets it build up speed.

A better reg can improve range in 2 ways:

ONE: it allows you to run the gun at a higher FPS since there is less danger of a FPS-penalty.
TWO: the fps spread will be more consistent, meaning you will have a longer "EFFECTIVE max range".

But, as mentioned above, the difference is not that great. If you are shooting half the distance at the same FPS, my guess is your barrel is extremely dirty causing corkscrews.

have you tried moving closer to what you are shooting at? that helps when your paint falls short... sarcasm aside. the bore on the barrel might be oppisite of the paint, ie. small paintballs + big bore = lots of air moving past while still in barrel, even when cranked up the velocity suffers. a good mach/miss-match can influence your FPS without changing anything else.

I have often fiound when reffing those who complain about not shooring as far are either too far away, or have their gun way down.

Personally, I keep my main gun at 260fps, where the field limit is 300, just because I know the gun works best in my setup at that speed.

more sarcasm

try yelling bang louder, that sometimes scares the opponent into calling themself out. i did hear that gangsta style improves the air consumption.....

you could always try throwing the paintballs by hand, the ultimate stealth/silencer.....
