SP8

I got to play with one of these last weekend. While I am not a fan of sp's business practices, I really liked this marker. Light, Quick, accurate as all get out.
I've used a Ion, but I liked this alot better. Anyone have any other experience with them?

I'd really like to see a straight up comparo of the SP8 and MX8 markers. It seems like they're both pretty nice guns and it would be very difficult to decide on one over the other. Not really requesting anything of the poster, just thinking out loud.

I personally like the way these work, very smooth and quite a solid shooting platform, even thought the looks aren't quite my fancy.

The SP8 has a better trigger than the stock Ion and the on/off button is a bit nicer.
Very durable, in it's stock form it is very nice feeling and balance is good. With a small to medium tank it works great, unless you run a remote. The stock is nice and will work with a small to medium tank but a remote will look cooler and keep it lighter. The stock barrel is crown pointed and when the ball leaves it you hear a metallic *ting*, pretty neat I thought. The longer barrel gives you the longer foregrip which makes it look closer to the real model. With the stock and foregrip extension it is a full sized combat rifle.
My only complait is the double trigger, doesn't look right at all.
I have no experience with the MX8 but assume it is a JABB and allthough may be louder and sound cooler, may not be as accurate as the SP8 or have as high a rof.
Price wise the MX8 is a bit cheaper, and you wont have to buy a HPA tank if you don't have one.
I can vouch for the SP8 and was thinking of getting one until I decided I needed a Vector.

Flame me will you!? LOL, none taken. I thought the same thing actually.
It looked cheesy as heck until I picked it up. The grips could be better, light as a feather. Real Solid feel to it.
I have read reviews on the MKX8 saying the hopper will not adapt to any other hopper but the one it comes with so you are stuck with the shake and shoot.Something that the feedneck is to big for other adapters(?) But, there is a mag kit option COMING, not available yet for the MKX8.
I will get one when that comes out.

I saw a boatload of the SP8's at the last scenario game I played. I didn't get a chance to talk to anyone about them, but I also didn't see anyone with one torn apart on the workbench either.

Looks kinda nifty in a "starship troopers" kind of way.

I was thinking exactly the same thing!
For some reason the looks DO kind of appeal to me....must be the sci-fi geek in me I suppose.

These are just built around an Ion chasis, correct?

I like my SP-8. I picked mine up in November. My only gripe is that they can now be had for $299 new. The new ones are also aperantly coming with different grips. Mine came with Ion grips, and I had to 'modify' them so that they would wrap around the grip without a hassle. With the stock on, I can not put on a 47/3000 tank. No problem for me though, as it will be run off from remote.
From the little shooting I have done with mine, I am happy with it.

Kindred: It has Ion guts(breech, firing chamber, donut, electronics, etc) , the whole trigger frame is different.

Stechele, You still have a stock board or upgraded to a blackheart yet?
And what hopper and paint are you using?
