Blackrain et al: the SP-8 is entirely plastic, feed block and surrounding parts included. As unconventional as this answer is going to seem: Consider selling the SP-8 and buying an SP-1 or the Gog G-1 with interchangeable feed blocks. I've owned both. There's a lot of wasted space in the SP-8, all for show. For the price of having that feed neck machined, you could probably buy a brand new SP-1. The SP-1 is far more compact and durable. If I dropped the SP-8 I'd expect pieces to crack. The SP-1 would just bounce. Performance wise, they're identical. |
