| Rec Poster | SP-8 Feedneck issue
No, this isn't another "my feedneck broke, where do I get new ones?" thread. I was exploring the possibility of finding a machine worker to help make some new ones out of aluminum. I know the feednecks are one piece that just slide into the plasic body of the sp8, so wouldn't it just be more practical to replace it with a machined aluminum one? Would anyone know someone who could do this? I can donate my un-broken feedneck to use as the template. Also, I'm sure most of us would like the feedneck shorter to fit closer to the marker, so this would be a good opertunity to remedy that. If there is enough interest then I will persue this further, asking around and seeing who would like to do a run of them. Heck, i would even commission a run of about 20 to 30, just to sell on here to people. I like the SP8, but it's biggest flaw in my opinion, is the feedneck. So, post here if you might be interested in a new shorter aluminum feedneck! Again, I won't be making these, I'm just a mechanic, but if there appear to be enough people interested then i'm sure I can find someone who would be willing to make them. No price as of yet, but I would guess one would be between $10 to $30 at the most. Worth it to me, I would never worry about the neck breaking again! |

Would it be an exact copy of the feed neck design? Also, if you want to get them anodized in black or something, I know someone in the western New York area who can do it. | |

I know this thread has been inactive awhile, but I just broke my feed neck, and of course there are none around. I'm willing to try and contact smart parts for the specification since they screwed all us anyway by not making any replacement parts. Probably wont get anywhere, but worth a shot. I've seen a lot of threads with people looking for feed necks, if you can reach those players your friend might be able to make a decent little amount of cash.

I emailed GoG to find out if they have replacement feeds. I'll eventually need one. I just recently aquired an SP8. Is the whole feed plastic or just the feed? I won't be able to take mine apart till April. I'm not sure if it has metal parts or if it is all plastic. Anyone have an actual picture? Later, Blackrain
