the fabco valves are only offered as normally closed. this works great for pnuemags, but the ion needs a normally open valve (clippard smav-3 does both). to make the fabco normally open i believe you would have to drill out the exhaust port and tap it for a barb, then it would be used as output and the old output would be the exhaust.

i picked up my ion with no board/solenoid/internal hoses/banjos/qev for only $60 shipped. it was in perfect condition (pretty much unused) other than the missing guts. all in all this gun cost me less than $100.

Your right I never thought of the NC/NO I do believe that Fabco makes a version that is NO though I just cant think of the model number
