I think it's about time to get a few dirt cheap Ions and make that remote control Command Post Defense Sentry Gun I've been thinking about.

Evidence that MCB is the "hidden gem of paintball on the Internet."

Crazy.

I'm thinking of picking one up now just to tool around with.

Whatcha think?

Or should I hold out and go for an upgraded version with a clamping feedneck etc?
you can do a LOT better than stock for $150, just look at what you
missed out on:

Warped Sportz Dark Ion

i sold it all (gun with T-board and stock board, vp scythe and cp
trigger, function and scenario dreams feedneck, lucky 15 barrel and
stock barrel) and it was for less than $200

i think i probably could have gotten a bit more if i waited, but there
just isn't really any interest in an ion for more than $200 no matter
what ups it has. $150 should get you a used one with a pretty good
start on upgrades.

i picked up a like new ion without the board for only $60 shipped and
turned it into a mech ion with minimal additional cost (around $100 total).

Even though SP makes them, I do believe that on a certain level, they do benefit the community, it gives everyone decent footing without feeling completely overwhelmed when playing with others that own private equipment.

However, I find it more hilarious that the maximum BPS of all my guns put together doesn't equate to the BPS of a stock Ion.
