Old Shoebox Shocker Sport

I've had in my possession for quite a while a "Mellow Yellow" Shocker Sport. It was not working when I got it and it has been collecting dust for years and years [I'm not a fan of electro guns in general].

Well I've been cleaning up the old collection and decided I need to see about getting this gun working. Do you guys know of some good FAQ files, websites,...etc. to get familiar with this contraption. I'd like to get it working before I decide to cull it from the herd. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've already tore it down and it definitely was all gunked up with old grease [looks like DOW 33]. In additon someone ghetto wired in a 9vdc battery. Didn't the old shockers have a different battery pack?

It looks like all the parts are there including the old Max-Flo regulator but I am missing the bottle that goes with the regulator.

I started reading through the help files from the link above and just starting to get it all cleaned up and inspected.

Did you need pics of the left handed valve? If you do I will take a look for mine. I have a complete setup I'm saving for one of my guns.

Be thankful for that 9v...does Smart Parts even still sell the old proprietary packs?

You occasionally find them on E-bay or at Paintball stores, but Smart parts no longer lists them, Though I would not doubt that there are a few sitting around Smart Parts headquarters. But, they probably haven't been made in do long that they would probably be dead anyway.

Smart Parts used to claim that 9v batteries would fry the board with too much voltage, which clearly isn't true, and a voltage reg for $1 could put it down where the battery packs where anyway.

I absolutely love my shocker, I have more eliminations with it then any other gun I own, it isn't fast, it isn't efficient, it isn't light and doesn't have a good profile, but it is accurate, reliable, and cheaper than my Angel, Mag, Impulse, etc to play with.
