Any thoughts, John/Josh?
A Springfield barrel is going to be good longer than you're going to want to shoot that gun. I don't mean 10,000 rounds, or 20,000 rounds. If you take care of it with regular and preventative maintenance, you'll be able to put more rounds through that than you ever thought possible. Plus, the parts that would wear out are easy to replace and designed to be replaced. I'll dig around and see if I can find a couple of my Wilson Shok Buffs to send you.

Shoot the crap out of that gun man, that's what it was made for!

Rob, we have no topic to get back to...
if I shoot the hell out of it, won't it wear out things like the slide and frame and all of that jazz? And if anything malfunctions, I don't know if Springfield warranty will cover it? That's why I am scared of shooting my springer a lot. Same with my walther ppk/s. I don't shoot my walther a lot.

Springfield has good customer service. And you can't shoot the hell out of it. You're not going to wear the gun out. It was designed by the master 100 years ago and very little has changed. That should tell you how reliable it is.

Trust me when I say again, You CAN NOT shoot it the hell out of it. They have R&D Departments that do nothing but shoot the hell out of these and it takes them a LONG time.

hmm, thank you, Josh. It is comforting to hear that... Now onto my walther. I am also thinking of maybe getting a full sized bersa to practice with instead of my walther because the walther is a pain to shoot after a while, but I would trust it CC over the bersa. So I am thinking of getting the full sized bersa for practice/plinking in .380 over the walther. And I have become surgical with my walther at well over 15 yards.

I typically do a good job of knowing when I need to take a break. Typically, stepping away for a weekend is enough to recharge. My unofficial record for days straight of work (including weekends) is about 120. This is not a record that anyone should try to break.
So that's why you enjoy shooting people. I was always fueled by hate and anger and there's not much left of that anymore. I'm pretty exhausted these days. Glad to know someone feels similar pressures running a business, being the brains and brawn to keep the ball rolling. I always keep in mind "equal opportunity, not equal outcome" and "to whom much is given, much is expected" those quotes light the fire under my ***.

I found an old teammate on pbn selling some shocker parts I need to restore my original ME shocker then ill be interested in playing one time this winter. The weather is feeling awesome.

Most everything from Wilson is top notch! I say get 'em. And get the "bullet proof" firing pin. Also, get some Wilson mags for it. Trust me!!
EMT.

Yes, I can't believe I forgot to mention magazines. WC magazines are just about the best you can get for the 1911. Buy some.

Not nearly as much as you bro, you really need a vacation. (with no cell, laptop, etc.)

Use it, you won't wear it out. The first things to go will be springs, and maybe the stock magazines (springs again). Springfield has a fantastic warranty and customer service. Use the piss out of the gun.

Nope, not for the program I'm pursuing. Maybe later on if I feel like doing some distance learning stuff though.

Pat, any idea which side Trigger Happy is going to be playing for? Can we just sign up under the team and automatically be put on the same side?

Just remember springs are considered to be a consumable item. They are intended to be replaced at regular service intervals as part of maintenance. Not a big deal at all and they're readily available.

Quote:
Spring replacement

* Recoil spring : every 2000 rounds
* Firing pin spring : every 5000 rounds
* Hammer spring : every 25000 rounds

thank you, Deuce. You know, I am thinking about selling the walther to get the RIA 1911 compact and using that to carry on me occasionally. I wouldn't carry all the time, however, the nights I do carry it (depending where I go in miami) I will carry inside the waist. But for the most part when I go out, I will just keep it in the glove compartment so I don't have to conceal carry it all the time.

I want to sell the walther because I dislike the fixed barrel design, and I love how the 1911 is so customizable.

And out of the hundreds upon hundreds of reviews I read about the Rock Island 1911s, I have only read a few bad reviews. And of course, just like with my full sized springer, I will get wilson springs, firing pin, wilson guide rod it, and a chip mccormick mag and keep the stock mag as a back up, and get some hogue grips for it. With all the upgrades though, I will be in close to 560... for the price, should I just pick up a sig p238 instead for conceal carry? Those are the only two I am looking at.
