I know. I was dropping it on purpose to re-acquire my target each time I brought it up. And since I don't have a holster, I practiced with the gun loaded, safety on, and laying on the table. Grabbing it, disengaging the safety, pointing and shooting. And the grouping was the same. I am pretty happy with how I shot today.

Based on the video title, it looks like he's practicing "point shooting" instead of "sight shooting".

Take two or three shots, then check target and make adjustments. Cover the target with the front sight and focus on that.

Yeah, that's what I was doing. When I take my time to aim I am a much better shot. I didn't make a video of that because there are plenty of videos like that.

I need to make a video of me shooting my ppk/s. I could be point shooting, or sight shooting and it's just as accurate. That thing is incredible. And it isn't really the caliber difference, I honestly don't feel recoil much, so the recoil and caliber doesn't make a difference to me.

I will definitely try that next time. My range just doesn't allow rapid fire and I would blow through my ammo so much faster doing that. lol

Listen to Josh. That is a training scar you do not want to develop.

It would be better to practice shooting controlled pairs, placing the weapon down, then repeating.

GET A HOLSTER!

Don't pick up some $30 piece of crap either. A good holster and gun belt should be requirements to carry. They make all the difference in the world.

Try taking some faster shots as one might in a self defense situation. Say, 3 rounds in 25 seconds at 25 yards and so on.

Oh, I was doing that today, not sight shooting but shooting the way I do point shooting, by keeping both eyes open and looking past my gun and I was getting good shots as well. I shot from 5 to 20 yards (max yardage at my range) while not dipping the front of the gun down but rather keeping it up and on target. And I also tried sight shooting from those distances to practice.

And I will eventually get a gun belt and holster to carry my 1911 one day, but I want the wilson combat ones and it would run me 200... i just don't have that money to spend now, I first need to get the 120 for my license first.

I've been wearing a Crossbreed belt daily for the last 3 years and it still looks great.
