That being said, cerakote is one of the best coatings you can use for materials nowadays. They make a clear product now that I have seen people use over their hydrodips.
I recently sold one of my automags and wanted to cerakote it, But now I'll have to find a project gun to test with. I have everything I need to cerakote stuff but haven't ordered the colors yet. Spent way too much on my latest AR pistol build so holding off until I decide on colors.
Id found that you have to be descriptive with whoever is doing it... I had a couple of things Cerakoted, but really only like the cobalt black. I recommend that you know exactly the color you want before doing anything (at least through someone online).
I had my guide and pump rods cerakoted black, and it came out awesome. I had my Cyborg Crakoted black and blue, but the blue did NOT come out how I expected.
