I love the young guys that bring their pretty, super accessorized, AR's to the range...thats where the money pit comment comes in.
As for it being a good platform, good yes. Just good.
As for paintball being a money pit, well, lets just say that I could have purchased and made pretty a good few AR's by now.

i always say im going to purge alot of paintball gear and buy an AR but i never actually do it...

Figuring out how to take nice photos is a money pit. I just wish someone would say you need this this this and this is how you do it.

AMEN!! I've been reading and practicing for years and I know there's still a ton of stuff to learn. I also hate when people buy a nice camera and think they're a photographer!

I built an AR Pistol a couple years ago. That was actually a lot of fun. May do that again. Someday.
