what kind a gear/markers is everyone runnin down south now??? how big is woodsball/rec ball??? how many peeps are playing speedball down there???..and is that field in k-town still only "plastic bb land" ????

what kinda tourneys are there in ne tn???

i want details gentelman, details....
When were you at Splat-1? We may have played together/against each other. I played there from late '88 through about '92-ish with the Darknights. We all were in our early 20s then.

Most woodsballers in the Knoxville area that I know of either go out of the area to play or play renegade. I play renegade once in a blue moon, and primarily play at 24 Hour Games in Dalton, GA now. Knoxville has a few fields now, but mainly speedball. The MSPA tourney makes some stops in Knoxville, and the local fields have some small tourneys.

Try to stay warm up there!

Hey Magnumhan
This is Wes from Alternative Sport. I'll try to fill you in some. We still have our Blountville location, and we are opening 4 X-Ball sized fields in KPT. where the driving range was. We also have a small place in the Ft. Henry Mall. As for woodsball, a guy opened a huge senario field in Chucky(www.playpaintballnow.com), about 20-30 mins from our Blountville location. Tournamnet wise we now have a local 5-man series call the SPTS (www.smackz.com), and we still host multiple CFOA events and our own local stuff. Check out our web site for more local info (www.thealternativesport.com) Hope this answered some questions, but if you have more just let me know.

alright wes, long time no talkie...good to hear from ya....my roomate just opened his speedball fields here in michigan...we played a demo durning the michigan monster game, it was nice, i fell several times, broke two halo bodyies, snapped'em right off, and was tag, somewhat embarresing in the back of the head, made for some good laughs....is anybody playing reball down there yet???..i'm trying to talk my buddy into "renting" reballs and the field by the hour, like pool halls do with tables...cold weather is settin in like a bi-otch here so everybody is moving indoors...and i finally went completly electro this year, i sodl off my whole damned fleet of cockers, even that "junky" one i bought off your wall about 6+ yrs ago..i had it rockin' for a mech cocker, about 11 a sec witha 3 to 4 mm trigger throw...i had all kinds of goodies on it, we all satrted callin' it the "frankincocker" the guy that pegged me in the back of the head during xball was the one i traded it too..tell me that wasn't humble-pie gettin' powned by your own damned gun..he took the 8 lbs of metal off the front and put a ccm pump kit onit, yes, he owned me with a pump during speedball.....

whats the mall field like??? and whats everybody usuiing now down there???....you wouldn't belive the trouble i have gotten into here in michigan , hahaha....and this weekend im headin to oklahoma to sling some paint in the sppl, i am soooo stoked....keep the info coming wes...i miss j.c. and the hills man...

There was a re ball field in Knoxville, but It went under about a month ago. We only have a retail store in the mall, but some indoor fields have been in talks. If you see a team at the SPPL call Rebel Force they are from the Play Paintball senario filed i was telling you about. You need to send me a pic of that cocker so i can remember which one it is LOL.

I'm still having a hard time finding a field that's close enough here in Madisonville. Hell, the closest place for a HPA fill is in Lenoir City at Tim's place.....& that's a 40 mile trip one way!

Ah, YOU'RE the ones who beat us in the night tourney! We were in first and had a 1 or 2 game bye while everyone else played to determine who would play us aka stayed awake. When the finals came, we were literally caught napping by y'all. That was a fun tournament!

Randy & Gwen sold the farm to a retired Colonel, and then they split (or maybe I've got it reversed, can't remember). I talked with the guys at Knoxville Paintball Sports and they said Randy drops by once in a while to rent a bunch of guns and buy paint to take to Nashville for a charity game he still puts on out there. Don't know about any current contact info for him, but I'd bet the guys at KPS would have it.

As long as the cold has snow along with it, bring it on!

hahahahah...well, well, well....what a small arse world paintball is...man it is soooo nice to say "hi" to ya.....ow the hell are ya pj???, can't say i "remeber" ya personally, but this REALLY brings back memeories...yes, i do remeber that night, alwasy will, had an absolute blast, everyone was way cool except "southern trouble" the guys we finally beat for first in the end, we didn't get much notice untill the smie's after we played the "tie" game for 4th place, then everyuone knew or team name and mine....a most excelent time...yes, i do r,meber you guys takin naps in randys sun room whatchin' a movie...., honselty, i think thats the only reason you guys lost there in the end, my team ha d watched with a great detail to attention, every other team, and all night we said that you guys and southern trouble where the only ones we were worried about, and when we saw you guys "sleepin" during the semies, it narrowed it down to southern, man that was one hell of a night wasn't it???

question, how many of your old teams mate still play???? otta mine, i'm the only one...and my buddy jimmy, the nut with the splatmaster, still has his pistola, but doesn't play.....the attrition level at this age is overwhelming....

wow pj, absolutely wow, i am SOOOO glad i ran into you here man...keep me updated on the happenins in t.n. with paintball....

be safe brother, and play on!!!!
