Helping CFP (Central Florida Paintball) stay in business

Hi!

Central Florida Paintball (CFP), one of the premier fields in Florida and well-known well beyond state borders, is facing a crisis with the county that they operate in.

The operation's owner has created a simple Website to give the data about this: Home Page

In a nutshell, on July 12, they have a hearing with the county commissioners which will determine if they can continue operations.

I've had a good time playing scenarios, rec ball and various tournaments at CFP. I also have a fond spot for the place because it is where the first
2-man/10-ball tournaments were held. I'm not going to take the time to count the number of fun days of play that I've had there.

I told the owner that I would help get the word out. Since CFP serves players from all over the U.S., even those from around the world, letters from people anywhere are valid.

Take a couple of minutes to look at the website (above) - it is a very simple site, send a message and make a call.

Best of all, in addition to writing/calling, is being at the hearing on July 12. Logic is not a predictable winner in these things. Most often, the win goes to lots of preparation, lots of communications (letters/calls) and lots of people in the room at the hearing - all three of those. The last two being most valuable.

I'm going to be there (I'm driving over from Clearwater a little early so that I can have lunch in town). I hope you can, too.

It's not my style of field but I'll participate. Any field being shut down by legislation is bad for paintball.

Lets spread the word.

I do not want to see any field shut down for Paintball we have lost too many already here in Pinellas County as I enjoyed playing there with my brother, Titus and Amber and all of you guys from MCB, as it is, there are hardly any woods or playing fields left to play the sport of paintball that I enjoy, My vote and letter was sent. I hope we can save this business from being shut down.

Keep it going!

Thanks,

Any update from the hearing on July 12th? I couldn't make it! The last thing I got was this email from Commissioner Sam Johnson:

Greetings! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns regarding this issue. I realize it is important to you and I will keep this in mind when this issue comes before the commission and a decision is made.
Sincerely,
Sam Johnson
Commissioner

Well, keep us posted.

Thanks,

Rj

Good to hear. I hate to see any more fields in FL get closed. The one in St. Augustine shut down a few months ago. We need keep FL fields open!
