I-4 still shut down

For those who don't know...I-4 is still shut-down after the 70 car pile up....

Unfortunately, their were 4 deathes and 30+ injuries. The ambulance crews could not see the smog was so thick, they had to use the cars to find their way to the accident.

The smog plus the controlled burns from the local fires is what caused it. The combination of the two created zero visibility.

Luckily, not very many were killed and it was only 70 cars. But, may they rest in peace.

Bay News 9 - Your News Channel

We were in class yesterday talking about it, but we didn't hear about the 4 deaths, we heard 70 deaths. Talk was going around the school in bringing our class out and using that for training for scene assessment.

The fires were controlled burns that hit older hot spots and reignited causing the fire to rage out of control quickly, and it spread near from 50 acres to 400 very quickly, it being uncontrolled played a large factor into this. The wind conditions changed while the fire was going on, that played a large part in it to.

I heard the 4 from a radio station the day after the pile-up happened....

Glad it's all clear now.

be glad did not get stuck in traffic. my dad got stuck in traffic from for 3 1/2 hours made them turn around or find new route to tampa area
