Low-rise Prototype Sterling STP

Just back from anodising, our low-profile Sterling STP project. She should happily take any common after-market clamping feed-neck. This body is threaded for the Sterling barrel system with a .688 bore.

PM me if you want one. :-)

I'd stick my neck out and call it gloss. These were taken on my iPad, we'll get some photos taken on the Canon when it's finished.

Hi James. We got some feedback from Sterling users wanting a different mounting solution for their hoppers. By lowering the height of the feed stub, we can mount a clamping feed neck or leave it as it is for our customers to fit their own. We're working on a version now and just wanted to know what you guys thought of the idea so far. There's still some laser work to go on there too. :-)

I have one of these 99 vert feed stp's with a taller neck it's possibly it's only shortcoming.. and the lack of barrels readily available.. I did solve the barrel problem with a phonecall to J&J where they made a barrel set for $80... as far as the feedneck problem goes i'd love to see a pressfit retrofit made for these.

So is this just a prototype with an old body and you plan to release one in spyder threads later on? That would probably get more business than going back to sterling threads. Anyways, love that you guys are finally supporting and doing something with the sterling line after so long.

now if you really wanted to get the sterling crowd giddy. design an (affordable, if only) aftermarket undercocking kit that incorporates an anti-twist guide rod. Affordable in that if it cost another $100 or more then your pushing into the ccm price range for undercocking sterling quality(or better) gun and still with only a basic unported barrel. I think that the over the barrel pump handle is the one thing that makes my cf sterling feel funny to me. The sight picture down the barrel is obstructed.

We already have a clamping feedneck coming for the STP, Jubilee and Stock-Class. I'll get some photos up shortly. The Spyder barrel thread will still be the primary system and, at the same time, we still want to look after our Sterling-thread customers.
If it all goes to plan, we'll be able to provide clamping feed-necks for all our vertical-feed AP Sterling bodies. :-)

Mike, just so I understand, you are planning to have two Sterling options:

#1 - old style "sight rail" body with low profile feedneck and Sterling threaded barrel

#2 - new style "rounded" body with removable clamping feed and Spyder threaded barrel

Is this correct?
