mounted reg needed?

Hi everyone, I'm new to sterling. I'd like to get a STP but am wondering if it needs a vertical reg mounted reg to improve consistency? I mostly play competitive pump so consistency is important. Thanks for the help guys!

I have a Female Palmers mounted on the bottom of my trigger frame and after spring tuning my gun I got my speeds within 14 FPS on a 25 shot run. I also run with a 45/4500 HPA peanut tank.

I also have a female Palmer & love it.

But is it necessary to achieve consistent fps

necessary to down more possible the psi!
with a good sweetspoting, 375/400 psi is a good insurance for no breaking balls.

With good paint to barrel match and a good hpa tank reg your can shoot quite consistently, but a secondary reg could be helpful. In my opinion getting a freak bored barrel or something similar would be the first thing to do and then see if your consistency is acceptable to you or if you need to think about a reg of some sort.

A second reg (quality brand) with HPA will do nothing but help. With Co2, I would say its almost a must to be consistent unless you live some where that is always the same temp.

Matching or under-boring will help, period. Plus it will stop roll outs.

A regulator of some kind, spring kit & barrel set or insert set is what you will need to see a very consistent marker. Ive spent a good bit of time tuning mine & it is on par with the Intimidators I used to run, +/- less than 3fps through out the day.
