Brassterling Build. Now With More Open Class

I think my sterling has been hanging out on MCB for long enough....
Edit: It's Done!!!!

It's growing brass!!!!!!!!

But seriously. I decided to do a project that can rely on my machines I have here at home(not the $100,000+ machines I normally program at work). That way I can actually do more than one and perhaps sell a few.

I've been wanting to do some scratch brass builds for a while now but I have always loved Sterlings over Sheridans. So, Prototyping has begun on the brassterling I suppose.

what kind of machines do you have at home to play on ?

what are you going to do about the bolt and barrell braze/soldier the 2 tubs together or are you going to attempt something like a bolted together body?

My minimill and an indexer. I'm making some fixtures so that I can get everything soldered.

Sterlings look great in brass.

Still selling brass tubing, with .678 barrel stock now available!

Looks like I'm picking up some brass from ty at tunaball. I've just about got all the tooling I'm going to need. I just need to make some soldering fixtures. Hopefully PP will have a little unveiling.

Well A few updates. I have about 5 lower tubes done. I have all the tooling I'm going to need to finish everything. The soldering fixtures are done. I've been going crazy trying to buy a house lately. So, I will likely only have 2 complete guns from the first run. One will have bronze internals and the other will have older sterling internals.

So, some fabrication porn.

Are you building/machining it from drawings of the sterling? Or just tearing apart an old sterling and using the parts as references?
Btw, nice work! I hope to see more of it.
