J&J takes custom orders?
*takes out wallet*

Edit: I tried e-mailing them (J&J) on their web form just now, but I'm unsure if it actually sent the message. I recieved neither confirmation or error message, but was returned to the form. Oh well. I'll see if they respond within this week or try again I guess.

Try, calling - we are a 6 hours behind you.
330-567-2455 Joe or josh should answer the phone,
I gave them a factory sterling barrel so they could have it for reference.

Thanks Tinman, I saw the phone number you listed and noticed the area code, I was not aware the J&J was in Ohio. So I looked them up on the web and saw they are only 1 hour 45 minutes away.

J&J have been in touch with me, but I have not been able to get a clear "yes" or "no" as far as custom work goes.

They did however let me know that they had a couple of Sterling threaded barrel backs for their Edge barrel in .676, .679, & .682, so I ordered one of each of those.

Still trying to get an answer about having custom barrels made, but chances are that we'd have to get a bigger batch of them made (I'm guessing) for them to turn a profit.

Allright, I recieved a more detailed answer today:

"As of right now we are not taking custom orders as we are extremely busy. Also keep in mind that custom orders can get quite expensive. This is due to machine breakdown, programming, setup, and small anodize lots. The more barrels in a custom order, the cheaper the cost."

So, it sounds like it would be possible, but that you may have to wait ...and to pay well.

I guess what is custom to you is a relevant question, To me it's bore size and the ability to have a 2 piece barrel. I would venture that colored anno would add another level of complexity.

Also, what is expensive? Get them to put a dollor amount on that.. like minimum order $500

Real Steel parts make much better money...

Yes, to me custom would mean a barrel built to my/our specs. I'm not a huge fan of most 2-piece barrels, as most of them have very short control bores. Some are so short they are basically just glorified breech sizers. In this case however, I was delighted that they had Sterling threaded backs left, and that they are all really tight ones. Me like. I can't wait to get my Edge barrel kit.

I'm unsure whether they will bother to give me a price quote, but I can try.
