"Watching" a forum

Is there a way to "watch" a specific forum - i.e. have an email notice sent when a new thread/post is added to a section?

There is a button just above the first post that says "Thread Tools". Hit that and subscribe to the thread of your choice. To get to those suscribed threads you go to the quick links button and then hit subscribed threads.

To get your subscribed threads emailed to you, you have to go to your control panel and then edit options. Under edit options you will find a message and notification header (second one down under login and privacy). Under Messayge and Notification you will then see a heading that says "Default Thread Subscription Mode" that is where you tell MCB to email your subscribed threads.

Yes,
To the upper right side of the page as it scrolls you will see a set of white text options in the blue header. One of those options is "Thread tools". In that drop down list there is a "subscribe to thread" . When you subscribe you get a screen with the option for email notification (instant or weekly) or no notification among others.
You also get these options when you post to a thread.
Or you can go to your control panel just under the header and find a list to view all subscribed threads. Here you can set your options for each thread as well.

The poster was asking about "new threads" in a forum, like buy/sell/trade if I read it correctly.

you can do it with RSS, then run the syndicated out put to an rss reader, or repipe that to email (not really needed)
The RSS will update at interval, and will not be instant.
You can scour specific sections here this way, but the aggrigation must be done with your own server , or a webservice like feed43 or feedyes.

If you are on the computer anyway you could just keep a window or tab open on mcbspy
