The purpose of the Ask the experts forum is for appraisals also.

Whenever I post asking for a price check I get one answer max, often none.

Well, it depends on what you're asking for I suppose. There are lots of little odds and ends of paintball arcana floating about and it's tough to find experts on many of them. On the other side of the coin, some things are so common that it's tough to price them other than "it's worth what someone will pay". It could also be that the first response is pretty accurate and people don't want to post-whore with a thread full of "I agree"s. I'd rather only get one response than 10 which were all over the board.

Maybe instead of an appraisal section, Carter could expand the Blue Book with a way to submit (anonymously without seller/buyer info) price paid for a particular marker. Obviously gets weird with things that are heavily customized, so perhaps there could be a box for price, and a scale of 1 to 4 going from "bone stock" for minty stuff to "barely recognizable" for things that have had almost all the factory parts replaced, been milled/dremeled/whathaveyou?

The problem is the nature of this forum.

When asking for a price, it is assumed that it is probobly for sale, and you are looking for a resonsable amount (since prices are required here).

But that puts some people who might want to buy that item in a conflicted position where the realistic value might be more then they want, and were hoping to lowball.

Plus, value is generally very hard to figure out regardless. Today's market is very "throwaway". Hardly anyone keeps a gun longer then a year, which has driven the value down on everything. Just last year, new E-Cockers were selling for $100, etc.
