I could collaborate with you if you want, but most of my experience is around usps.

If you have a UPS Store near you...not a mom and pop UPS pick up...They charge the same as UPS does and most are open until 6:00pm for last shipment out. If you have a UPS account..just drop off and go...

FedEx is always for me a day or more latter in delivery........

USPS flat rate is great and easy to ship to our northern members across the border....

I as well, although I do know a decent bit about UPS. Obviously I'm willing to do some research. If you want to help feel free to throw a pm my way.

Reading this thread got me to thinking. I work at a company that provides insured shipping for jewelers. Perhaps I can work it out that brass is a semi-precious metal, and that the shipping is for raw materials. If so, I can get really fantastic discounts on FedEx, UPS and DHL. I'll be talking to my manager later today about this idea. If it works out, we would basically have one account number that we could use for shipping to each other at a discounted rate (our standard is 35% below retail, and I can push that down to 50% or more)

If this is the case, does anyone think we'd do the volume that would justify me pushing this idea?

I'd think that 20 shipments a week would do it for me to get the discount increased, however, since our insurance only covers jewelery, precious metals and precious stones, it may not even be a viable option... and I know that we all consider brass a precious metal, but the rest of the world may think differently.
