Freak boring a Nelspot?

I was just looking at one of my Nelspots tonight and lamenting the lack of even medium sized paint and the thought of Freak boring came up. It's one of the "newer" ones with the barrel sleeve that allows for barrel extensions. It seems to me that you could possibly bore out the inner barrel that is attached to the gun plus a inch or so in the back of the barrel extension and fit a Freak insert in there.

I'm in no huge hurry to have it done, just wondering if it could be done.

solex did it here:
45 frame for NELSPOT
so its just a matter to talk someone else into it. Not to interject on your thread, but I have been thinking about the same thing.

I'd read most of Solex's stuff and I hadn't seen that, nice. And chit chat is fine with me in this thread.

I'm trying to figure out how the top tube and body are held together even. Maybe I'll have to shoot Solex a pm.

Yes it can be done:

Freak boring a Nelspot 007?

I did this with Red Neck Sniper a few yrs back. The insert does come out. To remove the top you can grind or hammer away,it's basically sheet metal.

If Stuanchy is interested I'll talk with him here in a few weeks and give him more details.

Later,

Look at my pictures,we did exactly that except replaced the steel insert with an aluminum insert.

A 5lbs sledge is your friend when removing the insert.
