Scenario Dreams Minigun... REVISION

So I roll in to Supergame last month....

Find my booth, and do a quick lap around the vendor village......

I see this thing hanging from the top of the one of the booths.....

(this one... minus the tripod)

Well long story short, the owner has a gun I want (want not need lol) and needs some work done on it to make it functional (eyes are dead, so its a giant blender)

Gonna do some appearance stuff too....

But yea its comin into the shop as soon as i can make space for it!

The Problems:

-Its crazy long

-Cant disassemble it easily

-Eye logic is dead, need to rebuid it
(single barrel shoots out of the multi barrel spinning part)

-Needs love

The Solutions

-Chop down the faux barrels, take a couple feet off
(sharpie line down the barrels....)

-Cut the body for a door to access the guts

-Redo the wiring
(changing the entire firing system)

What Im gonna do

-Cut Barrels, easy peasy

-Cut the body, depends on which route we go
A) Entire body becomes 2 piece, and is hinged
B) Smaller Window with hinged door

-Firing Logic
Its an Ion, so that plays to my strong suit
The game plan is to move the micro switch to the front of the body (where the spinner meets the stationary) and add fingers
The finger/lumps/whatever will be attached to the spinner, micro switch stationary, so when the spinner spins, it hits the switch and shoots

It is currently wired to a trigger that runs a drill motor, just like a drill, pull hard spin fast
I would love to wire up a speed control (bps control via rotations/second)
Trigger will only spin the drill which spins the barrels, which hits the microswitch which fires the gun
Microswitch fingers need to be adjustable to move one direction or the other for timing... off a little bit=big mess

Meh, I always thought this thing was kinda lame, being that the whole "gatling" part is pretty much strictly aesthetic.

I actually sent Daemon a design suggestion when he first was talking about this. It was a way to be a true gattling gun, but would obviously be a little more complex.

When I was at Invasion of Normandy, a guy had a gatlin gun with the single firing barrel in the middle of the rotating barrel setup. It was an A5 guts and a modded rotor hopper to feed it. He said he couldn't get a rotorary barrel setup to work. The rotary barrel had multiple motors that kept the barrels rotating when on. It was more of a show gun than a functioning gatlin gun.

He also had a side by side A5 setup with two barrels that operated off a single trigger. It too had a dual hopper feeder with an oversized hopper. That was a neat gun but it weighed like 20 pounds and wasn't practical to carry all day in the field.

I think a tripod setup is the way to go. Hope this gets out in the field one day.

Cool toy you have there, should be a fun project
Have you tried it with a standard forcefeed loader,my experience with Ion+Qloader=turbocharged blender
Like the backpack idea or a boxmag built with one of those US Army branded paint boxes
