Don't they make a .686 barrel too? Granted with today's paint its more of a match than an underbore, but it'll be more efficient than a .690.

The problem with an insert system is, like said, the channels for the twist-lock. You can get around the breech area by boring from the front instead, and then adding some sort of thread-on muzzle brake as a stop. Problem is that probably won't work with a stock barrel because its not long enough/doesn't have the meat. I'm sure it could be done from scratch but any company that could do it will be looking at R+D cost vs. potential sales, and frankly, pistols in general aren't a big enough market, much less the T8 alone.

I tried to get o'dells to bore my barrel for freak inserts; they said they can't do it.

I've been toying with the idea of buying an underbore aftermarket barrel for a different gun and turning it down on a lathe to fit in the t-8 or t-9. It shouldnt be too difficult to do if you have the machenery or know someone that does. Heck you could even make the feed hole first strike shaped.

I just took my calipers to my sa-8's barrel and its .687...
Underboring may give you a few more shots, however it wont yeild another mag imho. Maybe if you underbored, devolumized, shot slowly and it was 90+ degrees outside you'd be able to another mag or more.

The one I have is, who knows if they all are unless you measure them.

Yeah I'll have to measure my stock barrel, but I just found it odd unless it's a newer bore size?
Lapco's first barrel for the TA line was .689, and I find it funny if their first barrel for the line was larger bore than the stock barrel.
Even still, I'd be down for some .686 brass.

"They" should just start making freeking paint bigger, especially with the new tendency of underboring.
